I’m the author of nine books – three non fiction about the history of colonial Australia based on my family history, five novels featuring women breaking the mould in times past and a collection of short stories about love in adversity. If you’ve read any of my books I’d love to hear from you.

  1. I fell across your latest book, “The Awakening Claudia Faraday”, on Amazon (USA) after purchasing something completely different. However, when reading over your Author’s page, I found myself totally enchanted with both your musings, and with your topics for your current books, as I am also a woman “of a certain age” and could be a stand-in for your Claudia Faraday rattling around my own empty abode due to a sudden mid-life crisis on my ex-husband’s part. Shocking how hard and fast this malady hits men of a certain age, and how we are best served to let them go, and be eternally grateful that we’ve given a pass to that right dodgy bullet and to leave them deal with the resulting disaster all on their own!!!! So I’m off to order your latest book now, but I wanted you to know that I’ve bookmarked your website so I can come back to read whatever you write about, moving forward, as I’m sure it will elicit a giggle or two in an age-appropriate manner. Never stop writing, Patsy! Your turn-of-phrase is absolutely endearing, as are your topics. So please keep them coming and we will read them and respond accordingly! Wishing you all the best in your future successes, Patsy!!!!

    1. Hello Riki (or is it Sue?). Thank you so much for your comments, they mean a lot to me. I am very pleased to hear you identified with Claudia, though also very sorry to hear your story. I have no further books in my head at the moment but if and when I do I will set up an email address and invite you onto it! Meanwhile would you mind if I quoted your comment about my turn of phrase and the age-appropriate giggling?

I do wish you all the best, and thank you again for your encouragement.

    1. I do like to write new lyrics to existing songs (mostly because I don’t write music). My latest effort is new lyrics to King George’s song in Hamilton, to reflect the fact that George, and Britain, went on to colonise Australia five years after the US War of Independence. I’m trying to get permission from Lin M-M to use his music but he’s not responding. You don’t happen to know him, do you?

    1. Hello Tony

I’d love to hear more information on Curragundi Joe. There’s a certain amount of it in the Mary Matcham Pitt Facebook group but anything more you know would be interesting to hear. I can give you the link to the Facebook group if you’re interested.
      All the best, Patsy

  3. Channel 9 in Australia shows Skippy reruns every Saturday morning around 5am. I just watched an episode called Merry-Go-Round, featuring Patsy Trench as carnival clown hopeful Carrie Mason. Fair to say that performance raised the bar on the acting quality of that program (from a fairly low base, of course), though it was Skippy who once again stole the show.

    1. It’s astonishing how the series keeps cropping up decades after it was made, even at the not-exactly-prime hour of 5am! Thanks for the comment Mike. It was the first and last time I ever worked with an animal and it was an interesting experience. (Animals actually, as there was more than one Skippy…)
